Be a Go-Getter
I give God all praise and honour, who by HIS mercy preserves our lives to this moment. Being alive today is not by ones making but by the wish and knowledge of the maker(God). This is more reason why we need to give him all thanks and offer Him the best of our services while alive.
Our sacrifices of faithfulness render unto him, gives us a living hope of ‘eternity’. Since we live in a world of ‘‘passing by’’, the good marks made while alive, grant us an heavenly reward of success. Man’s life is like a flower that comes forth and withers. It flees like a shadow and does not remain. On this course, we are to make use of every opportunity we might have to be relevant in the hands of God. Your positive decisions towards eternity start today as time waits for nobody. ‘’To every thing there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven’’. Ecclesiastes 3:1(NKJV). The greatest joy of all our achievements in life is knowing God as LORD and saviour, and to fulfil every of our divine purpose of existence.

It is a moment of trusting God for the accomplishment of His promises over our lives through the word of God that says ‘’Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ’’. Philippians 1:6.
Aside from the heavenly promise that is awaiting the faithful believers, God also promises to supply us our needs on earth according to His riches in glory.
So, I want to reassure you that, God has a plan of accomplishment for you, and that which he has started with you, he will perfect. 1peter 5:7, Matthew 6:26, Psalm 34:10.
WHAT IS A GOAL?
A goal is a result or achievement at which effort is directed or aimed. Goal setting is essential to our lives because it makes us to stay focused and motivated over our plans. Our goal encompasses our dreams,visions and plans.
It is a driving effort toward our hope over a period of time . Though, we do fail, sometimes, in our plans and efforts in reaching our goals simply because we are human. We could easily be distracted but the ability to remain focused and courageous for Him to grant us the goals.
In late 2018, I needed an upgrade in my career of which I took four stages of computer test. I failed the first stage three times but passed on the fourth attempt. The other stages went on petty good. We need courage and focus in reaching our goals even when we are challenged and seems distracted. Focus and courage keep us on the track.
ASPIRING FOR A GOAL
It is biblical to be ambitious in life for a better future. Being over ambitious is what God detests because it could lead one out of God’s divine purpose. We are to be guided with the spirit of God in every of our aspirations. In order not to fall victim of devil’s manipulations and steal away the main purpose of God for our lives.
Joseph, having known and understood the plans of God for his life, stood by it and pursued it. Even when the devil tried, he waited for that which the Lord has ordained for him. A Canaanite woman who came to Jesus for a miracle heard enough words that could made her easily distracted. Instead she stayed focus and fixed her eyes on her miracle in the hands of Jesus not minding the tests of ridicule and insults. Matthew 15:21-28.
After cross,comes a crown. In your aspiration of becoming that which you have envisioned for yourself, the Lord knows way and how of taking you to to the fulfilling place. ‘’For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry’’. Habakkuk 2:3. Behind a goal, there is a task to face. Victory comes when you are able to stand and not quit.
Dr Martin Luther king Jr. is being celebrated every year in the United State of America because of his contributions towards the emancipation of the black race. Nelson Mandela of South Africa fought for freedom and won. Though, these heroes were late but their memories ring.
RESIST THE DEVIL IN YOUR GOAL
When a man dreams for greatness and working towards the actualisation of the goal, the devil is always on the alert to bring such a good vision, plans, and dreams to nothing, purposely because, he doesn’t want any fulfillment for the children of God.
In the beginning, the first creature- Adam and Eve lost the original plans of God for their lives due to the lusts of their eyes. They both had such a wonderful grace of God, felts his presence in the garden of Eden from time to time. I can’t stop imagining such a great relationship existed between man and God. The wall of the relationship was broken because Adam and Eve could not resist the devil. The unexpected happened as the visions, plans, future got stuck and shattered. God drove them out of the garden. Genesis 3:1-24.
Jesus was able to accomplish his goal of salvation for the whole world as he resisted the devil on several occasions. Potiphar’s wife promised to enrich and free Joseph from slavery if only Joseph could lie with her. But Joseph resisted the devil in her and waited for the perfect will of God. Genesis 39-40.
Believers are to put their trust in God for the actualisation of their goals. Some of God’s fulfillment for believers do not come on a silver platter, but taking us on a process, to try our genuineness and stand in him. On this trying of one’s faith lies challenges and difficulties of which devil is at the effort of bringing us down from the purpose of God for our lives. ‘‘Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength, they shall mount up wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary and they shall walk, and not faint’’. Isaiah 40:30-31.
PRAYERS AND FAITH AS AN INSTRUMENTS TO REACH YOUR GOAL
Prayer is a direct address to God in communications of souls with the Lord. It is a way believers make their requests or hearts desires known to God . This makes it compulsory for us as Christians to develop the habit of prayer, because through it we establish our fellowship with God. Apostle Paul, in his letter to the Thessalonians, says, ‘’pray without season’’ 1Thessalonians 5:17.
Jesus Christ, in his words, says ‘’Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak’’. Mark 14:38.
The neglect of prayers is the major cause of stagnation to some Christian’s lives. On several occasions, the scripture recorded of our Lord Jesus Christ how often he prayed alone on mountains and wildernesses in order to have victory over Satan.
We live in a world that is full of challenges and high confrontation from the realm of darkness to frustrate one’s dreams, visions and plans for the future. Prayer is one of the weapons to combat the devil. ‘‘For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities, against power, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places’’.Ephesians 6:12. Some forces are connected to some family backgrounds which limit such families in expansions of good things. They hardly make an edge in their plans, no matter how hard they struggle. A brother came to me for a prayer in the year 2016, confessing to me how much he had laboured and struggled to secure a federal government job but all proved abortive. He related this failure and other issues to his family background. Anyway, with the help and to the glory of God, I prayed and fasted with him, in less than a month he got the job. This is to say that, prayer is the answer to most of our problems in lives. If only we can pray persistently just as Hannah did, we would activate our faith along and victory will be ours.
I believe dreams do come true if we pursue it with focus and courage. Do not give up on your goals no matter how tasking it may appear to be. Your greatness is assured. I am trusting God to bring every destiny into fulfillment in Jesus name.
